How It Works

Simple 3-step workflow

1. Choose your PDF

Choose the PDF file you want read aloud.

2. Load the text

The tool extracts the readable text from the file.

3. Press play

Listen, pause, resume, or adjust the speed as needed.

Trust & Organization

No audio file is generated or uploaded anywhere — the Web Speech API in your browser reads the text locally, the same way a screen reader would.

FAQ

Read PDF aloud questions

Does this work on scanned PDFs?

Only if the PDF has selectable text. Scanned, image-only PDFs can't be read aloud here. OCR PDF can give you the scan's text as a .txt or .docx file (English only).

Can I change the reading speed?

Yes, use the speed slider before or between playback.

Which voice does it use?

Whichever text-to-speech voice your browser or operating system provides by default.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. Text extraction and speech both happen entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
