Why Use It

Common reasons people annotate a PDF

Reviewing documents

Highlight key passages and leave comments for someone else to read.

Marking up drawings or forms

Draw directly on a page to point something out or sketch a change.

Study notes

Highlight and annotate a reading without printing it first.

Honest Limits

Visual markup, page by page

Markup is applied per page, and comments are baked in as small text boxes on the page rather than as PDF native comments you can toggle on and off in Acrobat. This keeps the tool simple and means the markup shows up correctly in any PDF viewer.

FAQ

PDF Annotator questions

What kinds of markup can I add?

Three tools: a highlighter you drag over an area, sticky-note style text comments you place with a click, and freehand drawing for circling or sketching directly on the page.

Can I mark up more than one page?

Yes. Use the page navigator to move between pages — your markup on each page is kept, and everything is applied together when you save.

Can I remove or undo a markup I added?

Yes. Undo removes the last thing you added to the current page, Clear page removes everything on it, and clicking a comment removes just that comment.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. Rendering and saving both happen entirely in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to a server, and nothing is stored.
