Merging SSC, HSC and Transcript Documents into One PDF for University Admission (Bangladesh)

University admission in Bangladesh often involves uploading scans of your SSC and HSC certificates, academic transcripts and other supporting papers. Portals differ in how many files they accept and how large each can be. Putting your documents into a clean, ordered PDF makes the process smoother and reduces the risk of a rejected upload.

Find out what each application asks for

Admission requirements differ by university and by programme, so start with the official circular or application page. Look for which documents are required, whether they must be uploaded as images or PDFs, and any stated file size limits. If the instructions are unclear, ask the admissions office rather than guessing. Their rules override any general advice.

Scan each document well

Place each certificate and transcript flat under even light, keeping the entire page in frame, including seals and signatures. Avoid glare from glossy paper. If you are working from your phone, the scan to PDF tool turns each photo into a proper PDF page. Retake any page where numbers or names look soft when you zoom in.

Merge in a sensible order

When a single file is requested, combine documents in the order a reviewer expects, usually the earlier qualification first and the later one after it, or the order printed on the application checklist. The merge tool lets you arrange files before combining, and the reorder tool fixes the sequence afterwards.

  • Check the official circular for required documents
  • Scan each certificate and transcript flat
  • Merge them in the requested order
  • Review every page of the result

Convert between images and PDF when needed

Some fields ask for images and others for PDFs. If you have a photo but need a PDF, use the JPG to PDF tool. If you have a PDF but need an image for a specific field, the PDF to JPG tool can produce one. Always check the format and size limit stated for each field.

Compress carefully

If the file is over the stated limit, compress it in small steps and zoom in after each one. Grades, registration numbers and dates must stay perfectly readable. If a single combined file cannot get under the limit without losing detail, check whether the portal allows separate uploads instead.

Mistakes to avoid

Frequent problems include uploading documents in the wrong order, cropping off seals or signatures, and compressing a file so far that grades are unreadable. Another is missing a page of a multi-page transcript.

Count the pages of every document before scanning, then count them again in the merged PDF. A quick tally catches missing pages before the portal does.

Keep the original paper documents safe and organised as well. Many universities ask to see originals at a later stage of admission, so scanning them is only one step and the physical copies still matter.

Leave enough time before the deadline. Admission portals tend to slow down as closing dates approach, and a rushed upload is when wrong files get attached. Preparing and checking your PDF a few days early makes the final submission a quick, low-stress step.

Papers you are likely to be handling

For each of SSC and HSC you may hold several different papers, and circulars are specific about which they want. Match the names on the checklist exactly: an academic transcript is not the same document as a certificate, and a testimonial is different again.

  • Certificate from the education board
  • Academic transcript or mark sheet
  • Registration card and admit card
  • Testimonial from your school or college
  • National ID or birth registration certificate, and a passport-size photo

Laminated and oversized documents

Laminated certificates reflect light. Photograph them near a window with the room light off, and tilt the phone slightly until the glare leaves the text, or lay the certificate flat and stand so your shadow does not fall on it. Board transcripts are often wider than A4, so step back until the whole sheet is in the frame instead of taking it in two halves.

Scan to PDF puts each photo on a page as you took it, without trimming the background. If there is a lot of table showing around the paper, trim the edges afterwards with Crop PDF, and turn any sideways page with Rotate PDF. In Merge PDF you can then drag the pages into checklist order before you combine them.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to merge my SSC and HSC documents?

Only if the portal asks for one file. If there are separate fields, upload each document to its own field.

What if the portal wants images instead of PDFs?

Use the PDF to JPG tool to convert pages to images, and check the size limit for that field.

How can I keep grades readable after compressing?

Compress gradually and zoom in after each step. Stop as soon as the file fits the limit.

Is my data uploaded to your server?

No. Everything runs in your browser and your documents stay on your device.

How do I check that no page is missing?

Count the pages of each original and compare with the merged PDF, then scroll through the file once to confirm the order.
