How It Works

Simple 3-step workflow

The tool extracts the text content page by page.

3. Download the Word document

Honest Limits

Text extraction, not layout conversion

This tool reads the text layer of a PDF and rebuilds it as paragraphs in a Word document. It does not recreate tables, multi-column layouts, images, or precise font positioning. Scanned, image-only PDFs have no text layer to extract at all.

FAQ

PDF to Word questions

Does this preserve my original formatting?

Text content converts cleanly, but this tool extracts text rather than recreating layout. Complex layouts, tables, columns, and images are not preserved. Simpler, mostly-text PDFs convert best.

Why is the Word file empty or almost empty?

This usually means the PDF is a scanned image rather than real text. Since there is no text layer to extract, the result will be mostly blank. Scanned PDFs need OCR, which this tool does not perform.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no fixed limit, but very large PDFs take longer to process since everything runs in your browser rather than on a server.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to a server, and nothing is stored.
